#CHANGE Landmark Ruling Allows Gender Change Without Surgery

Be you as you define yourself

On the 22nd of October, Korea has ruled in a landmark case that sex and gender changes will be officially recognized without surgically removing or changing reproductive organs. This case will be setting precedent and is a great win for the LGBTQ community in Korea.

It will be interesting to see how broad the implications are as in Korea currently, all males have to serve in the military for a minimum of 20 months. Does this mean a female born as a male does not need to go to the army? The military may be due for changes itself so we'll be holding our breath for developments.
