BTS SWEEPS 'JAPAN GOLDEN DISK AWARDS' WINS 10 CATEGORIES

BTS PAVING ANOTHER WAY.

BTS swept 10 categories at the 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards. BTS, which had already won the ‘Most Overseas Artist Awards’, proved their unrelenting dominance by breaking their previous record of winning 8 categories at the award show.


The Japan Records Association stated that BTS had won the categories including 'Best Asian Artist', 'Album of the Year', 'Best 3 Album', 'Music Video of the Year', 'Song of the Year by Download', 'Song of the Year by Streaming', etc.


'Butter', released in May of last year, won 4 awards including 'Song of the Year by Download' and 'Best 5 Song by Download'. In the 'Best 5 Songs by Streaming' category, 'Permission to Dance', released in July of the same year along with 'Butter', was nominated and won two songs in one category. The song 'My Universe', in collaboration with British rock band Coldplay, was nominated in the 'Song of the Year by Download' pop song category.


BTS, which won 8 awards last year, beat their previous record by two breaking the record for the most awards by foreign artists. They also set a new record of winning the 'Best Artist' award in the Asian category for 4 consecutive years.
