PARK MIN YOUNG & SON YEJIN ARE BEING CALLED SAVIORS OF JTBC

Give the ladies a raise!

JTBC is off to a strong start in 2022, thanks to two new dramas starring Son Ye Jin and Park Min Young.

JTBC's cable network launched two new dramas in February 2022, "Thirty Nine" and "Forecasting Love and Weather," starring popular actresses Son Ye Jin and Park Min Young. Due to the success of both dramas, both actresses are being dubbed the "rating saviors" of JTBC following a decline in viewership for the network's dramas last year.

Specifically, "Forecasting Love and Weather" and "Thirty Nine" earned ratings of 7.9 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively, for their most recent broadcasts. These achievements demonstrate not only the appeal of both dramas, but also the revival of JTBC dramas in 2022 following a year of stagnation with numerous low-rated series.

This is in stark contrast to JTBC's recent drama "Snowdrop," starring Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK's Jisoo which suffered low ratings throughout its run.

Fans are saying that the presence of A-list actresses such as Son Ye Jin and Park Min Young is a pleasant re-fresh for the broadcasting company's dramas. Although Jisoo of BLACKPINK is a well-known idol due to her inexperience as a rookie actress, her portrayal in "Snowdrop" left much to be desired, it didn't help that "Snowdrop" was embroiled in controversy at the start of its broadcast due to alleged historical distortion, prompting many Korean viewers to boycott the drama entirely.

Meanwhile, netizens are anticipating the upcoming episodes of "Thirty Nine" and "Forecasting Love and Weather" and hoping for continued growth in their ratings.

"Thirty-Nine" is a drama about the lives and relationships of three close friends aged 39. In particular, stories about work, romance, and other topics are intertwined, capturing the attention of female audiences. Every Wednesday and Thursday night, the drama is broadcast.
