Netizens are discussing trainees who, had they stayed with SM Entertainment, could have become aespa members.

On March 5th, a post on a popular online community went viral after it revealed six trainees who could have been aespa members had they stayed with SM Entertainment. Sullyoon of NMIXX, Wooyeon and Nana of Woo!ah!, Lami, Chaehyun and Koeun of Kep1er are all on the list. Lami and Koeun were introduced as SM Rookies.

Although it has been some time since aespa debuted, it appears that netizens are once again discussing the former SM trainees in light of NMIXX's recent debut. Among the comments are the following:
