No Swiss, No Swiss (cheese(money))
Lee Si Young is being criticized for promoting tourism to 'Switzerland' during a global pandemic and on a day when Korea confirmed over 10 thousand covid cases for the first time, its highest case total ever.
On the 25, the actress on her IG captioned photos of her in the country with, "Swiss tourist minister invited me as an ambassador to promote the country. Met with the minister's team and interviewed and ran to the city. I will show you much of Swiss in the future, thank you."
The actress then uploaded more pictures writing her affinity for Swiss, to the chagrin of Koreans who are still struggling with record-high COVID cases.
Koreans also commented for the actress to wear masks, as she is in a foreign country.
Korean media outlets are having a field day with her SNS post as sentiment towards her ambassadorship sour. They are criticizing her for taking advantage of her privilege while everyday Koreans are actively going out of their way to battle the pandemic.
What are your thoughts, is this fair, or is the criticism a reach?
