On the 27, her label J WIDE Company revealed that the actress was born in 1979.

The actress has her birth year as 1980 on her profile. Her label stated, "Kang Ye Won had been working in the industry with her birth year stated as 1979 before coming over to us."

Kang Ye Won has been under a microscope as of late due to her label CNC Hyowon's influencer FREEZIA. She has been criticized for not reacting as a CEO should and also for cutting ties with the influencer after the controversy hit.
