BTS PLACES HISTORICAL FIRST ON JAPAN'S ORICON CHART

Record breaking, genre blending, Vogue and GQing: the group does it all.

BTS' Japanese album, 'BTS, The Best' was the best selling album in Japan, ranking first in Japan's Oricon Year Chart.


This is the first time a foreign group has sold the most albums in Japan and the first time a foreign musician has done so since Michael Jackson, 37 years ago.


The globetrotting boy group sold 993,000 albums in Japan for the year. The chart also stated that first week sales for BTS' album was 782,000, breaking Japanese records. 'BTS, The Best' was released in June of this year, it is a compilation album of Japanese songs from their first promotions in 2017 onwards.
