5. Le Labo Seoul 'City Exclusive' Citron 28
Brooklyn based perfume laboratory 'Le Labo' released the 'Citron 28' Seoul as part of their 'City Exclusive' collection in Fall 2020. The light notes of citrus lemons compliment dewy expressions of spring making this one of our favorite scents from Le Labo. The 'City Exclusive' collection mean you can only purchase this through retail in the city, which makes this a must have for aromaphilics when visiting Seoul.
4. MCM x SAMBYPEN Collection
German Designer House MCM collaborated with 'Sambypen', who is helming the vanguard of Korea's burgeoning new wave art scene. Released in 2021, the collection pieces pillow cases to handbags all wearing the designer's mark and character logos.
3. GDragon Peaceminusone x Nike 'Para-noise'
GDragon's 'Para-noise' sneaker collection was monumental in a bevy of contexts. The collaboration in 2019 was the first between a major design house and a 'KPOP' musician, though we argue GD transcends musical genre. The collaboration was also a debut for GD as an artist in 'rarefied air' among the likes of Pharell Williams, and A$AP Rocky. A muse of the late Karl Lagerfield himself, the artist continues to thrive in space reserved for art, design, and high expressions.
2. Northface 'International' Collection - Korea
North Face released an 'International' Collection for FW 2017. Though called International, the collection was heavily focused on Korea and America. The Korean collection was designed off of the 'Taeguki' Motif of the Korean Flag. The flag marks against the sleek white makes this a favorite collection. Good luck finding them however as these grails are long gone.
1. Air Jordan 3 'Seoul'
The greatest Korea x Designer collab ever? Has to be the Jordan 3 Seoul. One of the greatest shows ever designed by legendary Tinker Hatfield and Dan Sunwoo in Nike's Innovation Kitchen, the shoe pays homage to the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and also commemorates the moment Michael Jordan won the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest. Released in 2018, the shoe also happens to be our favorite Jordan 3 and our top 5 Jordans of all time.
